A Somali woman was apprehended in Jeddah for illicitly running kindergartens in the Al-Nahda and Al-Yaqout neighborhoods. The unauthorized facilities were promptly shut down, and the electricity supply was disconnected. The arrest follows investigations revealing multiple violations of regulations by the Somali national.
The illegal kindergartens came under scrutiny when a quartet committee, consisting of representatives from the Jeddah Education Department, police, labor office, and Saudi Electricity Co., conducted inspections. Operating without the necessary regulatory licenses, the woman allegedly admitted children during both morning and evening shifts.
Violations and Investigations:
The arrested woman faces various charges, including mistreatment, impersonation, and non-cooperation with authorities. The committee's intervention was prompted by complaints from parents, leading to the discovery of unauthorized operations. Additionally, the woman was accused of photographing committee members and security patrols during previous visits, necessitating the involvement of criminal investigation, field investigation, and security forces.
Legal Proceedings:
The police department is currently finalizing the required procedures before referring the arrested woman to the Public Prosecution. This swift response underscores the commitment to enforcing regulations and safeguarding the well-being of children in educational settings.
