Hajj Minister: SR160 Million Refunded To Pilgrims In Compensation For Contract Breach
Category: Saudi Arabia

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced that over SR160 million has been refunded to pilgrims from the previous Hajj season due to contract breaches by Hajj service-providing companies. In a press conference, he emphasized the ministry's commitment to imposing penalties on companies failing to fulfill their Hajj agreements and highlighted the importance of providing exceptional services and incentives for companies exceeding expectations.

This year's Hajj preparations include innovative virtual experiences, allowing for greater efficiency and the return of pilgrim numbers to pre-pandemic levels, with no age restrictions. Al-Rabiah also mentioned a 39% decrease in Hajj service prices and the participation of pilgrims from 58 countries through an online platform, offering multiple language options and lower-priced packages.

The minister further outlined developments in facilitating pilgrim arrivals, such as an increase in the number of pilgrims by 30% and an extension of the Umrah visa duration to 90 days. With the resumption of Hajj after a three-year hiatus, along with virtual experiences and the presence of around two million pilgrims this year, the Kingdom has dedicated significant resources to serving the guests of God.
