The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has introduced specific guidelines for local pilgrims interested in participating in the Hajj pilgrimage, prioritizing adherence to COVID-19 precautionary measures.

These guidelines aim to ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims, with eligibility criteria including Saudi citizenship or residency, possession of valid national identification or residence permit by the month of Dhu Al Hijjah, and a minimum age of 15 years (Hijri date).

One significant condition is that Hajj under these circumstances is reserved for first-time pilgrims, except for women wishing to perform Hajj with a mahram. Health requirements mandate vaccination against meningitis and seasonal flu, along with a clean bill of health.

Accompanying mahrams must also meet specific criteria, including citizenship or residency, health and vaccination prerequisites, and certain familial relationships with Saudi women.

Registration for local pilgrims has commenced, offering four package options ranging from SR4,099 to SR13,265, tailored to meet varying needs and budgets. These packages encompass accommodation in premium camps, hospitality camp lodging in Mina, or tower accommodations near the Jamarat Bridge.

Transportation costs are delineated for each package, covering travel to and from Mecca, as well as within the Holy Sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah via the Mashair train or buses.
