The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) instructed all airlines operating in the Kingdom on Monday to exempt Saudis, and their non-Saudi dependents, from providing PCR tests before entering the country.
A PCR test must be taken within 48 hours of arrival, according to the authority.
In addition, it stated that failure to comply with the instructions would constitute a violation of government regulations, and legal action would be taken against anyone who does not comply.
Saudi Arabia announced on Feb. 9 that foreign nationals and Saudi citizens traveling to the Kingdom must provide proof that they took an approved PCR or rapid antigen test within 48 hours of departure.
