As defined by the Saudi Public Prosecution, adulterated medical devices and supplies are those that have been altered purposefully to deceive.
The content of a device or medical supply can be considered adulterated if it has been altered in a way that compromises its safety or security.
Medical device and supply fraud in the Kingdom is punishable by the Saudi Public Prosecution
* Imprisonment for a period of up to 10 years.
* A fine of up to 10 million riyals.
* Temporary closure of the facility for a period of up to 180 days.
* Revocation of marketing permission for medical devices and supplies.
* A one-year suspension of marketing authorization for medical equipment and supplies.
* A 180-day ban on practicing activities related to medical devices and supplies.
* All of the above applies to the revocation of a license under the Medical Equipment and Supplies Law (42
* Publication of judgement after the verdict acquires final character, as per the Medical Devices and Supplies Law (46).
Anyone who commits any of these acts will be subject to these penalties.
The act of cheating or attempting to cheat in any medical device or equipment.
> Adulterated medical devices and supplies sold, exchanged, or possessed with the intent to trade them.
> Bringing into the Kingdom any device or medical equipment that is not registered, adulterated, or does not have a marketing permit.
> Packaged or covered medical equipment or supplies with the intent of fraud or attempted to enter them.
> Produce, print, possess, sell, or display packages or covers for medical equipment or devices with the intent to defraud.
