Due to the forecast of rain on Monday, all schools in Jeddah, Rabigh, and Khulais will be closed.

Several parts of Makkah, including Jeddah and Rabigh, will experience moderate to heavy rains, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). Coastal areas of Makkah could also experience torrential rain accompanied by strong winds and hail showers, according to the NCM forecast.

According to Hammoud Al-Soqairan, spokesman of the General Directorate of Education in the Jeddah governorate, in-person classes will be suspended for students in Jeddah, Rabigh, and Khulais on Monday. According to him, the decision was made based on NCM's reports, taking everyone's safety into consideration. Students, teachers, and employees of schools and education offices will, however, be able to take online classes through the "Madrasati platform".

Earlier, the NCM warned that moderate to heavy rain would hit Makkah until 10 am Monday. Jeddah, Al-Jumum, Makkah city, Bahra, Arafat, Khulais, Osfan, Al-Kamil, Rahat, Modrakah, Huda Al-Sham, Thuwal, and Rabigh are among the areas that received rain.

In addition, the center report indicated that thunderstorms and hail showers are expected in parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, Jazan, and Asir, especially along the coast. Fog is also expected in parts of Riyadh, Hail, Al-Jouf, and the Northern Borders Region.
