Saudi Arabia has just announced a public, private, and non-profit holiday in honor of Founding Day on Wednesday, 22nd February.
Saudi Founding Day, which will be celebrated on 22nd February 2023 for the second consecutive year, will give all workers (Saudi nationals and expatriates) an official holiday.
Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz declared 22nd February as the country's Founding Day last year and an official holiday every year.
A Saudi Press Agency report reports that public sector employees covered by the executive regulations for Human Resources in the Civil Service will also have a holiday on Thursday, the day following Saudi Founding Day, in accordance with Article 128 of the regulations.
As a way of strengthening the bond between Saudi citizens and their national heritage, the day commemorates the founding of the first Saudi state in the year 1727 by Imam Mohammad bin Saud.
As part of last year's foundation day celebrations, the country's rich heritage and history were displayed.
