Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing arm of Amazon, has disclosed its commitment to inject $5.3 billion (Dh19.4 billion) for establishing data centers within Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Zoom has introduced three innovative services tailored for the Kingdom, alongside the expansion of its cloud infrastructure.

Zoom's New Offerings Tailored for Saudi Arabia

Aparna Bawa, COO of Zoom, emphasized the company's dedication to contributing to Saudi Arabia's transformative agenda outlined in Vision 2030. Zoom AI Companion, an advanced AI assistant, is set to augment productivity and connectivity for users, slated for release by the end of July at no additional cost.

The introduction of Zoom Phone aims to streamline communication processes for Saudi businesses, integrating a 'bring your own carrier' feature for enhanced flexibility. Scheduled for launch by October's end, this service promises to unify communication channels seamlessly.

Additionally, Zoom Contact Centre is poised to enhance customer service capabilities, integrating front-office and back-office functions into a cohesive interface. Expected to roll out by the conclusion of 2024, this solution seeks to optimize administration, reduce costs, and elevate the overall customer experience.

Amazon's Data Center Investment

Amazon's monumental investment is poised to facilitate workload execution and secure data storage within the Kingdom, ensuring rapid access for users. This initiative will introduce the latest AWS infrastructure region, initially comprising three availability zones, complementing the existing global infrastructure.

Expanding Tech Landscape in Saudi Arabia

The burgeoning cloud computing market in Saudi Arabia is witnessing robust growth, with projected annual spending on public cloud services expected to reach $2.5 billion by 2026, reflecting a remarkable CAGR of 25%.
