Transfer of Visa Information to the New Passport

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia has advised that if your passport expires while you are outside the Kingdom on an exit re-entry visa, you must transfer the visa information to the new passport. This can be done via the employer's Absher platform account.

Use of Tawasul Service for Visa Information Transfer

In cases where the visa information cannot be transferred via the Absher platform, Saudi Jawazat has stated that the matter can be reported through the Tawasul service available on Absher. The Passports department ensures that complaints submitted through Tawasul will be handled with the necessary services.

Jawazat’s Response to a Syrian National's Inquiry

This clarification came in response to an inquiry from a Syrian national who asked whether his son, who had renewed his passport after leaving Saudi Arabia on a re-entry visa, could re-enter the Kingdom using his new passport. Saudi Jawazat confirmed that visa information must be transferred to the new passport for re-entry.

Re-Entry After Visa Expiry

For those who fail to re-enter Saudi Arabia before the expiry of their re-entry visa, Saudi Jawazat confirmed that they can re-enter with a new visa. They can apply for a new visa through their current or new employer.

Extension of Re-Entry Visa Using Absher

If the re-entry visa expires while abroad, the individual can extend the visa period via the Tawasul service on the Absher platform, provided that their iqama (residency permit) is still valid.

Passport Validity for Exit Re-Entry Visa

Saudi Jawazat previously informed that a passport must be valid for at least 90 days to be eligible for an exit re-entry visa for expatriates and foreign nationals.
