To Avoid Penalties, Jawazat Urges Citizens To Follow The Laws Of Countries They Visit
Category: Expats

In order to ensure safety, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) urged all Saudi citizens wishing to travel outside the Kingdom to adhere to and abide by the laws and regulations of the countries they plan to visit. The Jawazat said in a statement released on Saturday that avoiding penalties is essential to achieving the purpose of their journey.

According to the statement, Saudi passports should have a minimum validity of three months for travel to Arab countries. Saudis intending to travel to non-Arab countries must have a passport valid for more than six months. The Jawazat noted that the remaining validity of the passport is calculated from the date of leaving the Kingdom for citizens traveling to other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

Jawazat urged citizens to safeguard their passports against damage or loss, and not to mortgage or misuse them. It urged people to keep their passports in a safe place, and to register their passports with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the following link https://services. mofa.gov.sa/Fanar/RegisterPassport/Index.

Over the summer vacation period, Jawazat in the Riyadh region has extended the official working hours for passport delivery from Sunday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This decision will facilitate the issuance and renewal of passports for all citizens. The citizens are able to complete the procedures through the Absher platform, by booking an appointment to pick up the passport personally, or through the Saudi Post "Subl" document delivery service according to the national address.
