The Key Health Sectors Are Being Saudized
Category: Saudi Arabia

Several key sectors of Saudi Arabia's health sector began implementing Saudization on Monday, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD).

There are 60 percent Saudization in health specialization professions, 30 percent Saudization in technical and engineering professions in medical appliances, and 40 percent Saudization in sales and medical appliances and supplies professions throughout the Kingdom.

Saudization begins after the grace period for these sectors has expired.

All the medical facilities operating in Saudi Arabia have started to localize tasks such as medical laboratories, radiology, physiotherapy, and nutritional therapy. The rate of Saudization for specialists is SR7,000, and for technicians, it is SR5,000.

On Monday, the ministry announced that the Saudization rate would be 60 percent of the total number of workers in the targeted health specialties in order to create more than 5,600 jobs for Saudi men and women.

Localizing professions in the medical appliances sector included the Saudization of sales and advertising professions and the introduction of medical equipment and supplies in two phases: first by 40 percent and then by 80 percent.

Likewise, engineering and technical professionals for medical devices were localized in two phases: the first by 30 percent, and the second by 50 percent, with a target of creating more than 3,000 jobs for both males and females.

SR7,000 for holders of a bachelor's degree and SR5,000 for technicians is the minimum wage.

The MHRSD system will provide a package of incentives to encourage private sector employers to hire Saudis, including wage subsidies up to 50 percent.

The package includes training job seekers, transportation allowances to and from the workplace, moving allowances to increase participation of mothers, and allowances for working remotely to encourage new work patterns.

Saudi dentists and pharmacists earn a minimum salary of SR7000

Saudi dentists and pharmacists will be paid at least SR7,000 starting Monday as a result of the decision to calculate Saudization rates in the private sector.

The two nationalization guides for dentistry and pharmacy have been approved for amendment and updating.
