The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has designated specific times for men and women to visit Hijr Ismail, also known as Hateem, close to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah. Each visitor is permitted a maximum of 10 minutes within this sacred space.
Entry Times for Men and Women
According to the authority, men are allowed to enter Hijr Ismail from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., while evening hours from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. are reserved for women. Access to Hateem will be provided through the designated western gate.
Significance of Hijr Ismail in Islamic Tradition
Hijr Ismail, or Hateem, is a semicircular low wall structure on the northern side of the Kaaba. This area is considered part of the Kaaba itself, as the space between the Hateem and the Kaaba was originally part of the sacred structure.
Importance of Adhering to Visiting Guidelines
The General Authority emphasizes that visitors must adhere to the specified entry times and guidelines to ensure smooth movement and effective organization during visits. These efforts reflect the authority's commitment to providing the highest level of service to the guests of God and fostering a unique spiritual experience near the Holy Kaaba.
