In a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRA), the Saudization of women's decorative centers and sewing businesses is set to create approximately 7,000 new jobs in Saudi Arabia.
The move is aimed at expanding job opportunities for Saudi men and women in technical administrative professions and to engage them more fruitfully in the Saudi labor market. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has stated that it is committed to working with various relevant authorities to achieve the objectives of Saudization.
The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) was consulted in workshops to analyze the opportunities and challenges present in the industry. However, the Ministry has denied having any arrangements with technical colleges or higher learning institutions to use their graduates in sewing and decorating businesses.
To achieve the goals of Saudization, the Ministry has established a minimum threshold for determining workers' localization rates. The minimum salary threshold for the Nitaqat program is set at 4,000 Saudi Riyals, while the threshold for Tawteen (Localization) program funding is set at 5,000 riyals.
