Saudi Arabia is expecting a milder winter season this year, with temperatures remaining above the extreme lows recorded in previous years. The forecast was shared by Hussein Al Qahtani, spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), during his appearance on the "120 Program" on Al Ekhbariya channel.
Temperatures to Stay Above Previous Extremes
Al Qahtani emphasized that although temperatures will drop during the winter, they won’t reach extreme lows as seen in the past. He noted that temperatures across the Kingdom will likely stay within normal seasonal averages, with a slight increase of up to one degree Celsius in some areas.
Upcoming Detailed Weather Report
The NCM plans to release a comprehensive climate report for the winter season, which will outline the expected meteorological patterns and features for the coming months. This will provide more clarity on how the season will develop.
NCM Dispels La Niña Rumors
In response to speculation about an unusually harsh winter due to the La Niña phenomenon, the Regional Climate Change Center (a part of the NCM) issued a statement last month clarifying that these rumors are inaccurate. The center urged the public to rely on official weather forecasts and avoid misinformation from unreliable sources.
Importance of Official Weather Updates
Officials emphasized the importance of obtaining weather updates from verified sources to prevent confusion and ensure the public stays informed about accurate meteorological conditions. The NCM encourages citizens and residents to follow official forecasts for reliable weather information.
