Saudi Arabia Mandates Companies With 50Plus Employees To Disclose Training Data Via Qiwa
Category: Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia has mandated that all private sector companies with 50 or more employees must disclose their training data annually through the Qiwa platform. This initiative aims to enhance workforce efficiency, improve training programs, and align with the national objective of equipping workers with relevant skills for a competitive labor market.

New Requirement for Training Data Disclosure

As per the Ministry’s directive, companies must provide:

  • Total number of training hours conducted within the year.
  • Number of employees trained, categorized by different backgrounds (workers, students, graduates, job seekers).
  • A minimum of 8 training units per trainee annually to ensure effective skill development.

This measure ensures that workforce training programs are effective, data-driven, and contribute to national labor market development goals.

Objectives of the Training Data Mandate

The key objectives behind this initiative include:

  1. Boosting Workforce Productivity – By ensuring structured and quality training programs.
  2. Enhancing Private Sector Competitiveness – Encouraging companies to upskill their workforce for better efficiency.
  3. Facilitating Data-Driven Workforce Planning – Creating an accurate analytical reading of training indicators in the labor market.
  4. Aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 Goals – Strengthening human capital through strategic training programs.

Incentives & Future Plans for Training Development

To support compliance with this regulation, the MHRSD will collaborate with the private sector to introduce:

  • Incentives and policies for effective and quality training programs.
  • Enhancements to the Qiwa platform to simplify training data submission.
  • Regular monitoring of workforce training trends to optimize labor market growth.

Companies must ensure compliance with this directive before the end of each calendar year to avoid potential penalties and contribute to a more skilled and competitive workforce in Saudi Arabia.
