In a remarkable demonstration of coordination and care, the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has organized a convoy of 31 ambulances to transport patients from various hospitals in Medina to perform Hajj.
Ensuring continuous medical treatment, 18 hospitalized pilgrims of diverse nationalities will be escorted to the holy sites for the Hajj pilgrimage. This operation, under the direction of Medina’s General Directorate of Health Affairs, exemplifies seamless collaboration across multiple healthcare sectors.
Each ambulance, fully equipped with essential medical equipment, is staffed by a dedicated team of 106 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics. In addition to the main convoy, six ambulances are strategically stationed along Al Hijrah Road between Medina and Mecca.
These ambulances, supported by maintenance vehicles, oxygen supplies, mobile workshops, and rapid intervention units, ensure uninterrupted medical care for the pilgrims.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has collaborated with prominent medical institutions such as King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Medina, Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Hospital of the National Guard, Prince Sultan Armed Forces Hospital, and various private-sector hospitals in this noble endeavor.
A specialized medical supervisory team will accompany the pilgrims throughout their journey, continuously monitoring and evaluating their health to ensure their safety and well-being.
