In a groundbreaking move to enhance road safety and enforce compliance with vehicle insurance regulations, the Saudi General Traffic Department is set to launch its automated e-monitoring system. Starting on Sunday, October 1, 2023, this system will play a pivotal role in curbing the violation of vehicles lacking valid insurance coverage across all regions of the Kingdom.

Significantly, recent amendments to the Traffic Law have underscored the seriousness of this violation. Offenders can expect penalties ranging from a minimum fine of SR100 to a maximum of SR150.

The department has unveiled its innovative approach: direct, real-time monitoring of vehicles on Saudi roads. This system will swiftly identify and record vehicles without valid insurance coverage.

The Saudi General Traffic Department earnestly urges all vehicle operators, whether citizens or expatriates, to scrupulously adhere to traffic regulations and guidelines. Furthermore, ensuring that your vehicle is properly insured is not just a legal obligation but also a fundamental step in protecting your rights in the unfortunate event of a traffic accident.
