Minister Al-Rajhi - 25% Of Government Staff Can Work Remotely During Ramadan

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi has issued directives regarding the work of government staff during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to instructions, the number of employees who work remotely during the fasting month should not exceed 25 percent of the total staff. There shall be flexible working hours with employees clubbed into three groups and there will be one hour gap between each of the three groups for attending duty at their workplaces. The fingerprinting to register attendance will continue to remain suspended.

It was stipulated that the official working hours during the month of Ramadan shall be five hours in a day, starting from 10:00 a.m. ending at 3:00 p.m.

In a circular, Al-Rajhi instructed that all precautionary measures and preventive protocols to stem the spread of coronavirus shall be observed at workplaces, besides the application of flexible working hours and adherence to the green level preventive protocols.

The minister said that the Priority shall be given to groups of employees who are most vulnerable to coronavirus infection while picking employees to work remotely and this shall be in accordance with the classification of the Saudi Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Weqaya).

The concerned government agency shall empower and ensure better performance results of those staff working remotely, he added.
