In a remarkable display of generosity, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has granted approval for the hosting of 1,000 Umrah pilgrims from across the globe in the year 2024. This initiative is part of the Custodian's Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, spearheaded by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Expressing gratitude, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, extended his thanks to King Salman, along with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, for their benevolent gesture. He emphasized that this approval underscores the rulers' profound commitment to serving Islam and Muslims while fostering brotherhood among Muslims worldwide and nurturing connections with those involved in various facets of Islamic work.
Al-Sheikh detailed that the Guests Program aims to host 1,000 distinguished Islamic figures globally, including scholars, sheikhs, intellectuals, influential personalities, and university professors. The purpose is for them to embark on the Umrah pilgrimage and offer prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
Acknowledging the ongoing substantial support from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Al-Sheikh highlighted its crucial role in contributing to the success of its mission. This mission is centered on serving Islam and Muslims, propagating the values and principles of the Islamic religion, and combatting hatred, fanaticism, and extremism.
In a concluding prayer, Al-Sheikh invoked divine blessings upon King Salman and the Crown Prince, seeking the best rewards for their unwavering dedication to Islam and Muslims. He prayed for the consolidation of their unity, the perpetuation of security and prosperity in the country, and the safe and comfortable return of Umrah performers to their respective nations.
