The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the decision to extend visas and iqamas includes 17 countries from which entry has been suspended to the Kingdom.
This comes from Saudi Jawazat, after one of the beneficiaries inquired, asking, “A vaccinated visit visa holder with two doses inside the Kingdom and then traveled to Egypt, is he covered by the extension?”
- The official Twitter account of Jawazat in response stated that, “The extension includes the countries from which entry has been suspended, and they are “Afghanistan, Botswana, Brazil, Egypt, Eswatini, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Lesotho, Lebanon, Mozambique, Namibia, Pakistan, South Africa, Turkey, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.”
- The General Directorate of Passports had begun extending the validity of iqama (residence permit) and exit and re-entry visas without fees or financial consideration until the date of 31st January 2022 (28/06/1443).
- The extension of the validity of iqama and exit and re-entry visas is done automatically in cooperation with the National Information Center without the need to review the headquarters of Jawazat or the Kingdom's missions abroad.
- This extension, issued by the Minister of Finance, comes within the framework of the continuous efforts taken by the Kingdom's government to deal with the effects and consequences of the global pandemic, and within the precautionary and preventive measures that guarantee the safety of Saudi citizens and resident expatriates, and contribute to reducing the economic and financial effects.
