The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) in Saudi Arabia stated that in the event of renewing a resident’s iqama, while his children have not left Saudi Arabia, he is required to pay the dependents fees and the iqama fee, even if they obtained a final exit visa and did not leave Kingdom.
This came in response to a question from one of the people who asked to the jawazat through Twitter, asking,
“My residency will expire 30 October 2020 and I will issue a final exit visa for my wife and children on 25 October 2020, to be outside the Kingdom on 20th December 2020 hopefully, is it possible to renew my iqama on 30th October 2020 and does not have to be renewed when the family leaves the kingdom? ”
- The Jawazat replied, “Welcome. The instructions allow you to renew, but since the children have not left the Kingdom, the fee is required to pay the dependents’ fees and the resident’s identity fee. We are happy to serve you. ”
