Heavy rains on Monday affected most parts of the Makkah and Madinah regions, including Jeddah city. Roads and public squares in these areas were flooded, disrupting traffic flow on highways and streets. According to the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, some regions recorded rainfall rates ranging from moderate to heavy.

Al-Shafiyah and Al-Basateen Record Highest Rainfall

Al-Shafiyah in Badr governorate, Madinah, recorded the highest rainfall at 49.2 mm, followed by Al-Basateen district in Jeddah with 38 mm. Several areas in Madinah, including the Central Haram Area at the Prophet’s Mosque (36.1 mm) and Quba Mosque (28.4 mm), also experienced significant rainfall.

The NCM lowered the alert level in Jeddah from red to orange but cautioned about the possibility of strong winds, reduced visibility, and thunderstorms. Residents are advised to stay updated through official channels.
