The Public Prosecution has warned that companies and establishments that illegally employ foreign workers or allow their employees to work for others or on their own accounts will face a number of penalties.
Among the punishments for erring establishments are fines of up to SR10,000, a ban on recruitment for a period of up to five years, and publicity of the facilities' names in the local media at their own expense.
As part of the penalties, the Public Prosecution stated that the managing director of the firm could be imprisoned for up to one year and deported from Saudi Arabia if he is an expatriate.
In addition, the Public Prosecution urged everyone to report any violations of the residency, work, and border security regulations by calling 911 in Makkah and Riyadh, and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom.
