Eid Al-Adha Prayer To Be Held In All Mosques, With Exceptions: Ministry Directive
Category: Saudi Arabia

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, has issued a directive for all branches of the Ministry throughout Saudi Arabia's regions to conduct Eid Al-Adha prayers in all mosques and designated prayer areas.

The directive clarifies that the exclusion applies to mosques or prayer locations where worshippers traditionally do not gather for the Eid prayer in certain centers and rural areas, as they have their specific prayer spots that they frequent.

According to the directive, the Eid Al-Adha prayers should commence 15 minutes after sunrise.

It is important to note that the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has officially announced that Monday, 1/12/1444 AH, corresponding to June 19, 2023 AD, marks the beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah.

As a result, Arafat Day, the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage, will be observed on Tuesday, June 27, followed by the celebration of Eid Al-Adha on Wednesday, June 28.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has declared a 4-day holiday for workers in the private and non-profit sectors during Eid Al-Adha.

In an official statement on Twitter, the Ministry confirmed that the Eid Al-Adha holidays for these sectors will commence on Tuesday, the Day of Standing in Arafat, on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, corresponding to June 27, and will conclude on Friday, the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah, corresponding to June 30.

The Ministry emphasized that cases of overlapping holidays, as stipulated in Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Labor Law, will be duly considered.
