Civil Defense Issues Warning As Thunderstorms And Heavy Rain Forecasted Across Saudi Regions

The General Directorate of Civil Defense has urged Saudi citizens and expatriates to exercise caution as thunderstorms are forecasted to affect some regions of the Kingdom from Monday until Friday.

Safety Precautions During Thunderstorms

The directorate advises the public to avoid areas prone to torrents, marshes, and valleys. Swimming in these areas is strongly discouraged due to the significant danger they pose. It is crucial for individuals to follow instructions disseminated through media and social networks.

Regional Weather Forecasts

Makkah Region

The Makkah Region is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, including torrential rains and hail, accompanied by strong winds leading to dust storms. Affected governorates include Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Kamil, and Al-Ardiyat.

Other Affected Regions

In Makkah city and governorates such as Bahra, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Khulais, Al-Qunfudah, Al-Leith, Khurma, Turbah, Ranyah, and Al-Muwayh, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated.

The Riyadh Region will experience light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds, which may cause dust storms. This includes the governorates of Wadi Al-Dawasir, Al-Aflaj, Afif, and Sulayil.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecasted for Aseer, Al-Baha, and Jazan regions, while the regions of Madinah and Najran are expected to see moderate rainfall.
