Local media reported that a Saudi doctor recently graduated from Deakin University of Australia saved the life of an old woman who was found lying on the ground with compound fractures in her ankle in Melbourne.
Abdullah Nidaa Al Enazi, who was sent on a scholarship from King Fahd Medical City of Riyadh to Australia, was returning to his residence after his shift at Austin Hospital when he saw the woman lying in a pool of blood, in the parking lot.
Her ankle was later found to have suffered a compound fracture.
As a first responder, Al Enazi administered first aid and stopped the bleeding. Before an ambulance arrived, he tried to rouse her and reassured her and her grandson who was with her.
After contacting the Austin Hospital, Al Enazi activated the emergency system. From the hospital, the emergency team came and thanked him for saving the woman's life.
The doctor stayed with the patient after she was taken to the emergency room to reassure her grandson, who was in shock and crying.
The hospital authorities lauded Al Enazi for his heroic act and thanked him for handling the situation in an exemplary manner and saving the woman's life.
