Category: Saudi Arabia

In a strong stance against unauthorized Hajj pilgrimages, security forces in Saudi Arabia intercepted 160,000 individuals without proper permits at various checkpoints. Authorities also uncovered 83 fake Hajj campaigns aimed at exploiting unsuspecting residents.

Speaking at a press conference, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of Public Security and Head of the Hajj Security Committee, highlighted the successful efforts of security officers in maintaining order and ensuring the safety of all pilgrims. With a comprehensive security plan approved by the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Hajj, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, the focus has been on preventing security breaches and promptly responding to any emergencies.

Enhanced field presence and proactive measures against crimes such as pickpocketing have been implemented to safeguard the well-being of the pilgrims. Al-Bassami praised the efficiency of security personnel during Friday prayers, a challenging task due to the high influx of pilgrims in Makkah.

Major General Mohammed Al-Amri, Commander of the Special Emergency Forces, emphasized the comprehensive coverage of security forces across all locations, not only in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites. Their presence ensures public security and contributes to a safe and peaceful Hajj season.

Major General Dr. Hammoud Al-Faraj, Commander of the Civil Defense Forces in Hajj, highlighted the preventive and educational measures taken to ensure the safety of pilgrims. Continuous inspection tours are conducted to ensure that all safety requirements are met in the pilgrims' residences and headquarters.

Saudi Arabia remains committed to upholding the sanctity of Hajj by strictly enforcing the permit system and deterring unauthorized pilgrimages. The collective efforts of security forces aim to provide a secure environment for all pilgrims to fulfill their spiritual journey.
